Having spent the best part of thirty years playing hockey my knees and
lower back were starting to pay the price. I stopped and looked for
something to fill the void. It took a while, but I stumbled across
cycling by entering a charity challenge ride and got the bug. Five years
later I have got myself into reasonable shape, reached Cat2 in road
racing, performed well in a number of sportives, and now find myself
drawn to time trials. My first season went well with PBs of 22:42 (10m)
and 58:47 (25m), but my training has been a bit hit and miss, based
mostly on an assortment of snippets from books I have read, things I
have found on the internet, and things that fellow club riders have told
me. I feel that I have another gear that I cannot tap into yet. I am
confident that John will find it for me
