Cycling History
At the end of 2006 I was 3 stone overweight and my New Year’s resolution was to get fit, which I hadn’t been for many years.  I started going to the gym but found this exceedingly boring, so I took the plunge and bought my first road bike.

One of my workmates was a keen cyclist, and member of the local cycling club, and invited me along to some weekend group rides.  I still remember how nervous I was about riding in a large group for the first time, although I suppose it’s the same for all of us!

I quickly caught the bug and started to cycle more and more frequently, then in late 2007 I entered my first time trial.  This was a  confined ‘10’ and I posted a 25:52 on standard road bike with tri-bars.  However, it wasn’t until 2009 that I started competing regularly.

My times gradually improved during 2009 and 2010, but it wasn’t until this year (2011) that I started making significant improvements through John Morgan.  In addition, I started training and racing with a power meter which resulted in my TT pacing becoming more consistent.

 Goals for 2012
My goals for 2012 are:
1.       Improve threshold power by 15 Watts,
2.       Further improve pacing during longer events.

Achieving these goals will hopefully result in podium finishes at local Open Events.  When I reach the podium I’ll re-assess my goals!!
