I started racing in 1961,
and stopped halfway through 1963 !!!
Family commitments and the like seemed to make cycling and racing
impossible. I
still have a photograph taken at the Romford Wheelers 25 dated 13th August
1961,
time 1-07-20 !!
My greatest achievement was introducing my son Dave to the sport, for he
kept my
interest going throughout his racing days from 1976 until 1984.and turned
out to
be no mean performer. A short 54 in those days was pretty respectable.
After he packed up, cycling went on hold again until 2003 when a chance
meeting
enticed me back into the sport.
I raced again for the first time in 2005 and am now keener than ever.
I found a recommendation regarding John Morgan on the Timetrialling Forum,
and
now at the age of 70, and with proper guidance for the first time, I am
looking
forward to improving on my 10 mile pb of 27-35, set last year.
