" Dave Wentworth did his first TT on 25/4/1971. That first event was the leg bending 38 mile Adorior Mountain TT from the bottom of Chunal Head in Glossop to Hayfield, Chapel, Edale and a finish over the notorious Snake Pass. Dave’s next event was a fifty in the Cheshire Lanes – poor lad couldn’t figure out why the starter wasn’t using that chock under the back wheel as they did on the Chunal Head start!!!!! A baptism of fire or whatt!! Dave is now 54 and in the fourth year of a come back after fifteen years of being a sofa potato. Those fifteen years, according to Dave, wrecked his cardio-vascular fitness and endurance. This last year, 2007, saw Dave getting back to his old self at 10 & 25 miles at least. Getting within 40 seconds of his ten mile PB set in 1975 and within 2 minutes of his 25 PB set in 1985. ''John came by recommendation from a club-mate and one of John’s riders – Steve Robinson. Once Steve and I got chatting it soon became obvious that we were on the same wave length as far as training techniques were concerned. Steve reckoned that John could help me crack those ageing PBs with no problems at all. John, by the way, came up with the same conclusion!! Now, how cool would it be to crack PB’s that was set 33 & 23 years ago!!!! That is my incentive for 2008''
