''I've always been fairly active and used to be a runner over short distances and  play cricket. I was a fast bowler and used to love bowling real fast bouncers at  school.  Then went over to the bike really for cross training to help with running. Managed to do 17 mins for 5 km  and 36 mins for 10 k (but was a hell of a lot lighter)  with lots of biking but as what happens when you  get older i kept on coming down with injuries so started biking full time so to speak.

After years of trying different training on a small amount to training  I managed a 25 for 10 and 1.04 for 25, no great shakes  but I tend to  get bored very quickly so have never really tested myself and as there  is soo much info out there on training much of which is contradictory I  found John's website to try and construct a plan around a small amount of time.  I have always generally thought that a lot can be achieved on a little so I hope  to achieve some good results and a few sportiffs which are great fun.

I like john's training methods and philsophy as they are shortish,  very clear and explanatory, highlighting the reasons for  doing the session  in the first place. This is motivating and gives a real purpose to your  training. Also you can question the validity of the training sessions without  John getting bolshy which is a real plus as some coaches tend not to like being  challenged''
